Morphology
The Great White Shark has a very large, robust snout. It displays countershading. Both lobes of the tail fin are the same size. They have many rows of serrated teeth placed behind the main row. They replaced any that broke or chipped. Display bilateral symmetry. |
Bioligy
Great White Sharks live in nearly all coastal waters between 54F and 78F. They have a natural territorial nature. In case you haven't seen Jaws, they are carnivorous. Previously known as a coastal species, but recently has been discovered to be found as deep as 1,200m. All sharks have an extra sense called Ampullae of Lorenzi which helps detect other animals in water. |
